Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Barnsley District General Hospital and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Academic Unit of the Orthopaedics Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of Sheffield. In my training I had a very diverse and wide exposure to all aspects of Orthopaedic and Trauma surgery. I have been practising Orthopaedic Surgery since 1980 and in the UK since 1988 and have extensive experience in Orthopaedic and Trauma surgery. I obtained my MSc degree with distinction on total elbow replacement. I have been interested and deeply involved in elbow surgery since 1985. This has also increased my interest in mechanics and biomaterials. So I hold a diploma in Biomechanics from Strathclyde university (Glasgow). As a consultant I am currently the lead upper limb surgeon with particular emphasis on Complex Elbow, complex Hand and Complex shoulder and upper Limb surgery. I run combined clinics with Rheumatologist where I get referrals for hand and rheumatoid Surgery. I also perform Joint Replacements Mainly Primary or revision elbow, Shoulder and hand. I also perform Hip and knee replacements. Sports and Arthroscopic /Microscopic I performed Foot Surgery. Trauma surgery also constitutes major part of my daily workload. I tend to receive referrals for complex trauma especially of lower and upper limb (shoulder to fingers). Until recently I regularly performed spinal surgery and spinal screening services and received spinal surgical referrals from all my hospital colleagues and GPs. I have admitting rights to Private Hospitals. I regularly attend conferences, and courses. I am regularly involved in teaching different grades of doctors and medical students.
I accept instructions for medico legal work. I provide secure virtual clinical e-consultations, opinions, second opinions, and e-medicolegal work through most of the available e-platforms. |
